The Doors fue una banda de rock estadounidense, formada en Los Ćngeles(California), en julio del aƱo 1965 y disuelta en el aƱo 1973. Junto a Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead y Pink Floyd, se convirtiĆ³ en uno de los mĆ”ximos exponentes de la psicodelia de los aƱos 60. El grupo es considerado uno de los mĆ”s influyentes en la historia del rock, y ha sido descrito como una de las bandas mĆ”s innovadoras y poderosas en la historia del rock.
Aunque la carrera de The Doors terminĆ³ en 1973, su popularidad se ha mantenido. SegĆŗn la RIAA , han vendido 32,5 millones de unidades certificadas en los Estados Unidos. La banda ha vendido mĆ”s de 100 millones Ć”lbumes en todo el mundo.
Ray Manzarek y Robby Krieger han realizado giras como "Manzarek-Krieger" āpara cuestiones legales, "Ray Manzarek y Robby Krieger de The Doors "ā interpretando exclusivamente canciones del grupo original The Doors fue la primera banda estadounidense de acumular ocho discos de oro consecutivas. En 1993, The Doorsfueron incluidos en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
